Northern field trip 2022

The introductory module of the GRÓ-FTP six-month training programme ends with a trip to the north of Iceland and an introduction to fisheries in Akureyri and surrounding areas.

The 2022-23 group of 24 fellows participated in a busy but interesting schedule from November 24th to December 2nd, involving lectures at  the University of Akureyri, field trips to fishing companies and excursions to places of interest in the surrounding area.

On completion of the trip, the fellows join one of our four lines of specialisation, at the University of Akureyri, the Hólar University College, the Marine and Freshwater Research Institute or Matís Icelandic Food and Biotech company.
