Facilities

The GEST programme provides its fellows with acommodation in the student housing on campus. The student housing units are only a few minutes’ walk away from the various buildings of the University campus where the teaching sessions take place.

The fellows are provided with modern study facilities where they have access to printers, photocopiers, and scanners in any of the computer rooms on campus. Fellows can also use the facilities at the National and University Library which is also located on campus. University sport facilities are available to fellows as well as the cafeteria, and the student cellar in the University Centre. The academic reading material is made available on the University’s intranet.

GEST offices are located in the Gimli building, at the heart of campus of the University of Iceland. Gimli is almost next door to the University Centre.

The student handbook gives fellows useful information about the GEST postgraduate diploma programme (30 ECTS) and about living and studying in Iceland.

Support to students
Fellows receive scholarships, either from a funding agency or GEST. Scholarships cover travel costs, housing on campus, and per-diem during the five month period, in addition to access to educational facilities, learning material and lessons.
