Juliet Adansi Appointed International Youth Ambassador
GRÓ GEST alumna Juliet Nyarko Adansi has been appointed an Ambassador of the International Organization of Youth (IOY) for the 2026–2027 term, adding another international leadership role to her growing record of advocacy for gender equality, girls’ education and youth empowerment.
The International Organization of Youth promotes young people's participation in global decision-making, sustainable development and international cooperation. Through initiatives such as the International Youth Conference, it connects young leaders with policymakers, development practitioners and international institutions.
As an IOY Ambassador, Juliet will help raise awareness of international opportunities, mobilise young people within her networks and encourage their participation in global policy discussions. A key upcoming initiative is the 15th International Youth Conference, scheduled for 20–23 May 2027 in Los Angeles, with both in-person and virtual participation.
Announcing her appointment, Juliet expressed particular enthusiasm for "contributing to efforts that amplify young people’s voices, expand their access to global opportunities and strengthen their participation in conversations that shape our collective future."
Juliet was a fellow of the GRÓ Gender Equality Studies and Training Programme at the University of Iceland in 2025. Her final project, Keep Her in School: Instructor Training Program, developed a community-based approach to addressing menstrual health challenges and gender-based violence as barriers to girls’ education in Ghana. The project proposed training community educators to promote menstrual health awareness, strengthen responses to gender-based violence and support girls’ continued participation in education.
Beyond her GRÓ GEST studies, Juliet has established herself as an active advocate for women's rights and youth development. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the JOYA Foundation and serves as Ghana Programs Manager for Seeds of Fortune Inc., supporting girls and young women through leadership development, financial literacy and educational opportunities.
Her previous international engagements include serving as a Youth Delegate to the Council of Europe and holding leadership roles associated with the African Union's Centre for Girls' and Women's Education in Africa and the UN Foundation's Girl Up initiative. In 2025, she was also selected for the Sora Kaufman Fellowship of Advocates for Community Alternatives, recognising her commitment to community-driven development.
Juliet's latest appointment reflects her continued efforts to connect grassroots advocacy in Ghana with international platforms for youth participation and social change.
GRÓ GEST warmly congratulates Juliet on her appointment and looks forward to following her continued contributions to gender equality and youth leadership.
