This week, UNU-FTP Deputy Director Thor Asgeirsson will attend an "Expert Group Meeting on Oceans, Seas and Sustainable Development: Implementation and follow-up to Rio+20" at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Leadership Short Course with the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism
This week, the UNU-FTP is holding a short course on Leadership in cooperation with the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism (CRFM) for senior fisheries officers. The course was developed in collaboration with the University of Belize and the University of Akureyri, and the content is based on a similar course held by the UNU-FTP in 2010.

This week, the UNU-FTP is hosting two experts fro the Natural Marine Research and Information Center in Namibia in Iceland. While here, this delegation will explore potential opportunities for collaboration with the UNU-FTP in the area of stock assessment.

UNU-FTP Adopts New Strategic Plan
The UNU-FTP has adopted a new strategic plan that will guide it's operations from 2013-2017. This strategic plan was developed by the Board of Directors and UNU-FTP staff.
