This visit focused on the Institut Mauritanien de Recherches Océanographiques et des Pêches (IMROP), which is the primary marine and fisheries research organisation in the country, and a partner organisation in the FarFish project.

Ambassador Abdallahi Bah Nagi Kebd expressed the importance for capacity development in fisheries throughout the value chain in Mauritania, and the government's enthusiasm for building technical and scientific knowledge and competency to sustainably manage and utilize the vast marine resources of the country.
