A 10-day short course that focused on stock assessment, in collaboration with Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism, Marine Research Institute, Iceland, and University of the West Indies. A total of 19 professionals participated.

Description

This course was adopted from a similar course held in the South Pacific island communities. The aim of this regional course was to assist fisheries officers in the Caribbean in analysing their data from their regular data collection programs for the purpose of assessing the status of their commercial stocks. The course was organized in two parts. The first part (this course) was a general introduction to data collection and analysis for stock assessment. The second course was for the fisheries officers to analyse their own data that was collected during the period between the courses.
