Short Bio

Brynja Elísabeth Halldórsdóttir is an Assistant Professor, Faculty of Education and Diversity, University of Iceland. Dr. Halldórsdóttir completed her master's and Ph.D. degrees at the University of Minnesota, in Educational Policy and Administration, Comparative International Development Education. She is the chair of the Department of International Studies in Education.Her research areas include critical theory, critical ethnography, immigrant positionality and multicultural education in diverse societies. She is currently working on a three year project on immigrant women's experiences of violence. As well as doing research on immigrant experiences in the higher education system and exploring how Icelandic society and educational institutions are changing as the culture diversifies.
