GRÓ-FTP welcomes two new post-graduate students of Master's studies at the University of Iceland

Today the GRÓ Fisheries Training Programme under the auspices of UNESCO officially welcomed two new post-graduate students to Iceland for their Master‘s studies at the University of Iceland through scholarships provided by the GRÓ-FTP. Both began their studies in the Environment and Natural Resources specialising in Marine Resource Management.

Kimberlee Cooke-Panton is a fisheries officer in the Fisheries Division in Jamaica. Kimberlee was an FTP fellow in the stock assessment line of specialisation in 2014. Her research project in the six month programme was entitled, “An analysis of puerulus settlement of the Caribbean Spiny lobster (Panulirus argus) stock in Jamaica with practical management recommendations.” It is available here:

Etuna Haimbili is an economist at the Ministry for Fisheries and Marine Resources in Namibia. Etuna was an FTP fellow in the fisheries policy and management line of specialisation in 2018. Her research project in the six month programme was entitled “Assessment of the full utilization of hake rest raw material in Namibia”. It is available here:
