Congratulations to the GRÓ GEST class of 2021!

GRÓ GEST celebrated the graduation of 20 fellows, who were awarded a postgraduate diploma in international gender studies from the University of Iceland. The fellows come from 15 countries: China, Egypt, Kenya, India, Iraq (Kurdistan), Malawi, Mexico, Mongolia, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, Palestine (West Bank), Russia (Arctic), Sri Lanka and Uganda. The group consists of experts working in governments, academia, research, civil societies, and non-governmental organisations.

Final Seminar 2021

The presentations of the final assignments of the 2021 cohort of the Gender Equality Studies and Training programme (GRÓ GEST) will take place on Monday, December 6, at the lecture hall in Veröld (VHV-023), University of Iceland, from 8:50 am – 3:45 pm. The presentations will also be live streamed online.

Today, a short course on Gender and Climate Change was completed in Mchinji district in Malawi. The short course was developed through a collaboration of GRÓ-GEST and Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR).

Nordic Women Mediators' Annual Meeting 2021 and Workshop on Inclusive Mediation to Sustain Peace

The 2021 annual meeting of the Nordic Women Mediators Network took place at the Culture House in Reykjavík from 17-19 November. Prior to the meeting, GRÓ GEST hosted a workshop on inclusive mediation where GRÓ GEST fellows, NWM members and other experts were invited to attend. Each event was attended by over 30 people, in addition to a few NWM members who participated in the annual meeting online.

Nordic Women Mediators‘ Annual Meeting 2021 in Reykjavík

The Annual Meeting of the Nordic Women Mediators (NWM) network is hosted by GRÓ GEST and the Icelandic NWM chapter, with support from the Icelandic Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and takes place in the Culture House in Reykjavík on 17–19 November. The meeting‘s opening event was held today from 18:00-19:00 with panelists and participants of the Annual Meeting on site and streamed live to registered webinar attendees.
