From Knowledge to Development Impact: Ecosystem Restoration and Sustainable Land Management
1 May 2026
Join us for the last event in a series highlighting Iceland’s contribution to global capacity development through the four GRÓ Training Programmes, a key component of Iceland’s international development cooperation. This last session focuses on the GRÓ Land Restoration Training Programme (GRÓ LRT), an initiative launched in 2007, designed to strengthen capacity in sustainable land management and restoration of degraded land by promoting training, education, research, and knowledge-sharing among experts and professionals.
What is the impact of the work of the GRÓ LRT towards sustainable development? How do fellows apply their training and experience from the six-month training in Iceland to make an impact at home?
Come and hear directly from fellows as they share their experiences and insights on how capacity strengthening can drive progress in global development.
This open event is hosted by the GRÓ Centre for Capacity Development, Sustainability and Societal Change, the GRÓ Land Restoration Training Programme (GRÓ LRT), the Agricultural University of Iceland and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Institute of International Affairs at the University of Iceland
