Ársskýrsla GRÓ fyrir árið 2024 komin út
Alls útskrifuðust 97 sérfræðingar úr þjálfunarnámi á vegum GRÓ – Þekkingarmiðstöðvar þróunarsamvinnu á árinu 2024. Í lok árs höfðu 1.767 sérfræðingar lokið fimm til sex mánaða námi í skólunum fjórum sem starfræktir eru á vegum GRÓ, það er Jafnréttisskólanum, Jarðhitaskólanum, Landgræðsluskólanum og Sjávarútvegsskólanum. GRÓ styrkir einnig útskrifaða nemendur til framhaldsnáms og luku sjö styrkþegar slíku námi á árinu, tveir doktorsprófi og fimm meistaragráðu. Einnig voru ýmis stutt námskeið haldin í samstarfslöndunum, sem rúmlega 400 manns sóttu, og nýju netnámskeiði var hleypt af stokkunum.

GRÓ Annual Report 2024 published
The year 2024 was an active and productive one for GRÓ – Centre for Capacity Development, Sustainability and Societal Change – and the four training programmes focusing on fisheries, gender equality, geothermal energy and land restoration. A total of 97 specialists graduated from the five to six-month training in 2024, bringing the total number of GRÓ alumni to 1,767. Seven GRÓ scholarship recipients graduated, two with a PhD and 5 with a Master’s degree. In addition, several short courses were held in the partner countries, and a new online course was launched.

GRÓ Alumni Network Mongolia Officially Established
The first official GRÓ alumni association, GRÓ Alumni Network Mongolia, was established at an inaugural meeting on the 4th of July in Ulaanbaatar. The meeting brought together 28 GRÓ alumni, including 22 participants that attended online and 6 in-person attendees.

Mohamed Altamash Khan: Engaging Boys and Men for Gender Justice in India and Beyond
Mohamed Altamash Khan, a GRÓ GEST alumnus from India, has built a career dedicated to reshaping harmful gender norms by engaging boys and men in conversations around equality. Currently, he works as Senior Gender Trainer and Program Manager at the NGO Men Against Violence and Abuse (MAVA), and is also pursuing a Master’s Degree in Education and International Development at University College London (UCL).
