From Knowledge to Development Impact: Building Capacity for Sustainable Fisheries is the title of the second event in GRÓ's series of events highlighting Iceland's contribution to global capacity strengthening through the for GRÓ Training Programmes, which are a key component of Iceland's international development cooperation. The events are hosted by the GRÓ Centre for Capacity Development, Sustainability and Societal Change, the GRÓ Geothermal Training Programme, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Institute of International Affairs at the University of Iceland.

The event will take place on Wednesday February 4 from 10:00-11:15 in the University of Akureyri in room M101. The event will also be streamed online.

This event focuses on the work of the GRÓ Fisheries Training Programme (GRÓ FTP), an initiative established in 1997 for sharing Iceland's knowledge in fisheries with practising fisheries professionals from less developed countries.

What are the signs of sustainable development in fisheries in GRÓ FTP partner countries? What is the impact of the work of the GRÓ FTP to sustainable development? How do fellows apply their training and experience from the six-month training in Iceland to make an impact at home?
