Beatrice Dossah, GRÓ LRT scholarship recipient, graduates from University of Iceland

Beatrice Dossah from Ghana and a former GRÓ LRT fellow (2017), graduated in June with an MSc in Environment and Natural Resources from the University of Iceland. After completing her six-month training in Iceland, she was accepted to a master's programme in Environment and Natural Resources, at the University of Iceland, in 2019 and granted a GRÓ LRT scholarship for post-graduate studies in Iceland.

The title of Ms Dossah´s MA thesis is: How do cultural believe systems of sacred groves contribute to environmental conservation, and what are their specific threats? A case study of the Gua Koo sacret grove in Pokuase, Ghana. Her thesis supervisors were Helga Ögmundsdóttir, Assistant Professor with the Faculty of Sociology, Anthropology and Folkloristics, and Jón Geir Pétursson, Associate Professor with the Faculty of Sociology, Anthropology and Folkloristics and the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences, both with University of Iceland.
