On August 19 and 20, the GRÓ LRT fellows of 2025 presented their final projects at an open seminar held at the Keldnaholt campus. The fellows shared the results of their research projects, developed under the supervision of experts from various institutions in Iceland.

The presentations covered a wide range of topics, reflecting the real-world challenges the fellows work with in their home countries, including rangeland monitoring, wetland conservation, land use policy, restoration techniques, and local community involvement in natural resource management.

Working on their own research projects is a key part of the GRÓ LRT training programme and helps build knowledge and skills that the fellows can take back home.

The fellows are now preparing for graduation, which will take place on Tuesday 26 August at the Agricultural University of Iceland. Afterwards, they will return to their home countries with new skills, insights, and ideas to apply within GRÓ LRT’s partner institutions in land restoration and sustainable land management.

A full list of the fellows’ project titles and their supervisors can be found here: Day one and Day two.
