Today, the GRÓ LRT fellows introduced their individual projects, which will shape their work throughout the remaining duration of the GRÓ LRT six-month training programme.

With the guidance of specialists from the Agricultural University, the Soil Conservation Service and other organizations in Iceland working on restoration, each fellow has developed and will now carry out an individual project of their own choosing. At the conclusion of the project work, their efforts will be showcased through a written report and an oral presentation, in the end of August.

As always, the projects cover a wide array of topics under the umbrella of land restoration and sustainable land management. They encompass areas such as forest soil carbon stock assessment, the design of restoration plans based on land condition evaluations, and the examination of local community perception on wetland degradation, among others. The diverse topics covered reflect the various tasks and subjects that the fellows are dealing with in their work in their home countries.
