Description

This was the first short course organised in Uganda in cooperation with institutional partners of LRT in Uganda: NEMA (National Environment Management Authority) and Makerere University in Kampala. 

The course topic was "Sustainable land management, land restoration and linkages to climate change”. Participants were 25 officers from 18 different districts in western Uganda, who work on environmental issues within their districts.

During the course, the participants took part in interactive lectures, group assignments and exercises as well as two short field trips to visit restoration sites. The final day of the course was devoted to a comprehensive evaluation of the content and practicalities.
