UNU-FTP attends FAO conference dialogue on Blue Growth in Africa

May 3-5, 2017, the UNU-FTP participated in a conference dialogue on blue growth and economy: sharing experiences and perspectives for Africa. The conference was organized by the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations, the African Development Bank, and the Ministry of Economy and Employment of Cape Verde and was held in Mindelo, Cape Verde.

The three day conference covered a range of topics related to blue growth and economy in Africa and small island developing states. Representatives from international organizations, governments, research institutions, and NGOs were in attendance. Special attention was paid to the upcoming United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development Goal 14, relating to life below the water, which will be held in New York June 5-9, 2017.
