Short Bio

Professor Bjorndal is the director of CEMARE – Center for Economics and Management of Aquatic Resources – at Portsmouth Business School, University of Portsmouth in England. Dr. Bjorndal has published textbooks on fisheries and aquaculture economics.  He has published extensively in scientific journal on topics such as open access and optimal management of fish stocks, the production function in fisheries and aquaculture, cost and productivity analyses in fishing, processing and aquaculture, market analysis for fish and fish products, and high seas fisheries management. He will give lectures on selected topics at the UNU-FTP on January 24th to 26. In addition to giving lectures Prof Bjørndal will meet with fellows individually and discuss their projects. The lectures series centered on fisheries rents, international law and and management of transboundary resources, value chain analysis, and bio-economic modeling.
