Service agreements with host institutions renewed up until 2028

The GRÓ centre has finalised the renewal of service agreements for the period 2026-2028 with all four institutions that host the four GRÓ training programmes. All four agreements were signed in June 2025.

Jón Karl Ólafsson Chairman of the GRÓ Governing Board and Nína Björk Jónsdóttir, Director General of GRÓ, signed the agreements on behalf of the GRÓ Centre.

The GRÓ Land Restoration Training Programme is hosted at the Agricultural University of Iceland. Ragnheiður I. Þórarinsdóttir Rector signed the agreement with GRÓ on the 10th June.

The agreement on the hosting of the GRÓ Geothermal Training Programme was signed by Árni Magnússon, CEO of ÍSOR, Iceland GeoSurvey, on the 12th of June.

The agreement with the Marine and Freshwater Research Institute on the hosting of the GRÓ Fisheries Training Programme was signed on the 23rd of June by Þorsteinn Sigurðsson, Director of the Institute.

Jón Atli Benediktsson, Rector of the University of Iceland, signed the agreement on the hosting of the GRÓ Gender Equality Studies and Training Programme on the 24th of June.
