GRÓ∙FTP’s six-month training resuming
GRÓ∙FTP’s six-month training programme is resuming after one year suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Already most of this year’s fellows have arrived safely in Iceland. The remining ones will join the programme in the coming days.

Open Lecture: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, author of We Should All Be Feminists and Half of a Yellow Sun, will give an open lecture in the Large Hall of Háskólabíó – University Cinema on Friday, 10 September at 2 pm. The lecture is a part of The Reykjavík International Literary Festival programme and is organized in collaboration with RIKK – Institute for Gender, Equality and Difference and GRÓ-GEST. Irma Erlingsdóttir moderates.

GRÓ LRT fellows visit restorations projects in the North of Iceland
Last week, the GRÓ LRT fellows went on a four-day excursion to Northern Iceland where they visited restoration sites and learned about how land conditions have been improved with innovative approaches.

GEST Welcomes the 2021 Cohort
It was with a great pleasure that the GEST team welcomed its 2021 cohort to Iceland in August. The fellows arrived over a period of two weeks, and the teaching started on the 13th of August, after three days of orientation that was partially online. The 2021 cohort consists of twenty fellows from 15 countries. This year, for the first time, fellows from China, Egypt, Mexico, Mongolia, Namibia, and Nepal are joining the programme.

Beatrice Dossah, GRÓ LRT scholarship recipient, graduates from University of Iceland
Beatrice Dossah from Ghana and a former GRÓ LRT fellow (2017), graduated in June with an MSc in Environment and Natural Resources from the University of Iceland. After completing her six-month training in Iceland, she was accepted to a master's programme in Environment and Natural Resources, at the University of Iceland, in 2019 and granted a GRÓ LRT scholarship for post-graduate studies in Iceland.
