GRÓ LRT and the Icelandic Red Cross sign a Memorandum of Understanding
This morning, GRÓ LRT and the Icelandic Red Cross signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic collaboration between the two parties. The MOU expresses an interest in sharing of expertise, capacity training and collaborating in development projects focusing on land restoration and environmental sustainability.

GRÓ Director visits GRÓ LRT
Today we welcomed Mr Friðrik Jónsson, the Director of GRÓ International Centre for Capacity Development, to Keldnaholt campus. In his visit he met with the 2021 cohort of GRÓ LRT fellows and learned about the activities ahead in the six-month training programme. He also met with GRÓ LRT staff and Academic Committee, and the Rector of the Agricultural University of Iceland.

Two GRÓ GEST alumni, Stella Tereka and Yeshiwas Degu Belay, have commenced their Ph.D. studies at the University of Iceland on full GRÓ GEST scholarships.

#MeToo: Survivor Voices and Stories
In the fifth event in RIKK and GEST’s conversation series Rochelle McFee and Pamela Runestad will discuss survivor voices and stories. Rochelle McFee is a Doctoral Candidate in Ethnic Studies at the University of California San Diego, USA. One of her main research interests is sexual violence against queer women in Jamaica. Pamela Runestad is a medical anthropologist and an Assistant Professor of Global Health at Allegheny College in Pennsylvania, USA.

GTP conducts its first Online Course on Geothermal Energy
The course was aimed at decision makers in our cooperation countries in an effort to increase their interests in developing their geothermal resources and present to them all the possibilities geothermal energy has to offer.
