Visit from Samarkand State University to GRÓ LRT and AUI
GRÓ LRT and the Agricultural University of Iceland (AUI) welcomed Dr Shuhrat Valiyev, a GRÓ LRT alumnus from Samarkand State University in Uzbekistan for visit to Iceland from 4–8 May. The visit was funded by Erasmus+ and focused on knowledge exchange, professional development, and strengthening institutional collaboration between Samarkand State University and AUI.

Landgræðsluskóli GRÓ: þekkingaruppbygging skilar árangri
Landgræðsluskóli GRÓ var í brennidepli á fjórða og síðasta opna viðburðinum sem GRÓ—Þekkingarmiðstöð þróunarsamvinnu og utanríkisráðuneytið stóð fyrir í vetur í samstarfi við Alþjóðamálastofnun Háskóla Íslands undir yfirskriftinni Frá þekkingu til þróunaráhrifa. Viðburðurinn var haldinn á Þjóðminjasafninu þann 7. maí og bar yfirskriftina Frá þekkingu til þróunaráhrifa: Endurheimt vistkerfa og sjálfbær landnýting.

GRÓ LRT: Capacity Development Delivers Results
The impact of the GRÓ Land Restoration Training Programme was the focus of the last and final event in the series “From Knowledge to Development Impact” on May 7. At the event, that took place at the National Museum of Iceland, GRÓ LRT fellows and alumni shared their experiences and insights on how capacity strengthening can drive progress in global development. In total, 240 fellows have graduated since 2007 when the Programme was launched.
