New member on the GRÓ GTP studies board
The GTP is academically governed by a Studies Board, whose members are experts in their field and are responsible for each of the specialized study lines relating to their field. Through the years many notable experts and pioneers in the Icelandic geothermal industry have been members of the studies board and at the start of this year in 2023, Dr. Páll Valdimarsson retired from his board duties and his colleague and former student Dr. María Sigríður Guðjónsdóttir, associate professor at Reykjavík University took his place as the head of the Geothermal Utilisation specialisation.
We want to thank Páll for his dedication and valuable input in the studies board through the years, but he has been an active board member since 2002. Páll started as a teacher and supervisor at GTP in 1986 and has served many students through the years who will surely remember his teachings and personal advice throughout their careers. In turn, we welcome María on board and look forward working with her on the studies board.
