Description
This Short Course was a three-week event, specially intended for a drilling crew. It was from February 20th to March 10. In all, 15 drillers and experts participated in the short course, thereof 2 women. The teachers in the short course were Mr. Sverrir Thórhallsson and Mr. Kristján Skarphéðinsson.
The basic intention with the Short Course was to make the drilling crew of EDA Renováveis S.A. familiar with a drill rig it recently purchased from Iceland. The event was divided into two parts, the first week was intended for drilling operations consisting of reaming a well under supervision of the Icelandic experts, while the second part was a two-week short course on geothermal drilling operations, given at the Pico Vermelho power plant, in the Ribeira Grande geothermal field.
