
Short Bio
Málfríður Ómarsdóttir (Fríða) is a Project Manager at GRÓ GTP with ~15 years of experience in environmental sustainability, and international capacity building through geothermal development. She holds a B.Sc. in Geography and an M.Sc. in Environmental Science and Natural Resources from the University of Iceland. Her professional and academic focus is on sustainability and mitigating the effects of climate change through renewable energy development, with particular emphasis on geothermal training. Fríða has been actively involved in various international science projects, related to environmental and social sustainability as well as conducting courses and training in geothermal development and research as a teacher and supervisor. She is a member of Women in Geothermal (WING) since its beginning, advocating for gender equality and inclusion in the energy sector.
