Short Course VII on Surface Exploration for Geothermal Resources in El Salvador
The annual short course in El Salvador held in support of the UN Millennium Development Goals is currently under way. This time the short course is devoted to surface exploration for geothermal resources and is primarily targeted towards practicing geoscientists in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The UNU-GTP is currently conducting a Short Course on Geothermal Project Management in Ethiopia for selected employees of the Geological Survey of Ethiopia (GSE), Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) and the Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy (MWIE).

Announcement of MSc and PhD fellowship recipients
The evaluation of the applications received from former UNU Fellows for UNU-GTP Fellowships for MSc and PhD studies in Iceland has now been done. There were 20 valid applications for MSc studies and 6 for the PhD studies, which shows the great interest for geothermal studies in Iceland.

WGC2015 Fellowships
The World Geothermal Congress (WGC2015) will be held 19-25 April, 2015 in Melbourne, Australia.
This Congress has been held every 5 years since 1995 and as for the last three World Geothermal Congresses, the United Nations University Geothermal Training Programme is supporting a number of former UNU-GTP Fellows in attending the Congress in Melbourne.
