MSc theses 2009 available for download

MSc theses by UNU-GTP/UI graduates of 2009, Tesha, Roy Bandoro Swandaru, Mulugeta Asaye Adale and Roberto Renderos, are now available for download.
The figure shows the group of participants and some of the teachers, and was taken at the start of the lecture part.

Short Course IV in Kenya

The “Short Course IV on Exploration for Geothermal Resources” was held on November 1-22 at Lake Bogoria and Lake Naivasha in Kenya. This three week event was co-organized by the United Nations University Geothermal Training Programme (UNU-GTP), Kenya Electricity Generating Company, Ltd. (KenGen) and Geothermal Development Company (GDC). The 45 participants came from 11 countries of East Africa, and surroundings.

Ambassador Su Ge of China visits UNU-GTP

Ambassador Su Ge of China visited UNU-GTP on December 18 2009. The ambassador was interested to learn more about the strong relationship between the UNU-GTP and the geothermal community in China. The number of Chinese Fellows who have received training from the beginning of the programme is 72 and they are by far the most numerous of the Fellows.

Short Course on Surface Exploration for Geothermal Resources

The “Short Course on Surface Exploration for Geothermal Resources” for young professionals in Central America and the Caribbean was opened on October 17th in El Salvador with the participants arriving in San Salvador.

Graduation of Class 2009

The closing ceremony of the 31st annual session of the UNU-GTP was held on October 9th, 2009. Twenty two UNU Fellows from sixteen countries completed the traditional six month specialized geothermal courses this year.

The annual seminar with presentations of the UNU Fellow projects will be given in the main lecture room at Orkugardur on Monday September 28th, 2009, starting at 10:00.
