Short Bio
Karl Benediktsson is a human geographer and a professor in the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Iceland. His research interests include rural and regional development, renewable energy, political ecology, and human-nonhuman relations. Besides Iceland, he has good knowledge of conditions in Melanesia and Sub-Saharan Africa and has undertaken research in Papua New Guinea and Sierra Leone. Karl has published extensively on his topics of interest. He has supervised several final projects of GRÓ LRT fellows.
